We are a seeking a Maintenance Analyst to perform job functions typical to a Department of the Air Force (DAF) GS-0343.   This person will serve as staff analyst, evaluator, and advisor to management on the effectiveness and efficiency with which agencies and their components carry out their assigned programs and functions. The primary purpose of the work is to provide objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of agency operations and management.

 

To be considered, you must have an active Secret clearance.  This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate (on a quantitative or qualitative basis) the effectiveness of line program operations in meeting established goals and objectives
  • Develop life cycle cost analyses of projects or performing cost benefit or economic evaluations of current or projected programs
  • Advise on the distribution of work among positions and organizations and the appropriate staffing levels and skills mix
  • Advise on the potential benefits/uses of automation to improve the efficiency of administrative support or program operations
  • Evaluate and advise on the organization, methods, and procedures for providing administrative support systems such as records, communications, directives, forms, files, and documentation
  • Research and investigate new or improved business and management practices for application to agency programs or operations
  • Analyze management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology
  • Identify data required for use in the management and direction of programs
  • Develop data required for use in the management and direction of programs
  • Develop management and/or program evaluation plans, procedures, and methodology

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Four year degree preferred
  • Required Experience:
    • 10 years of broad/diverse background and experience in Air Force Depot Maintenance or base-level maintenance. C-17 experience a plus
  • Required Skills:
    • Detailed technical knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in C-17 aircraft repair, overhaul, modification, and programmed depot maintenance and production experience. The contractor shall possess data integrity team program experience to include, but not limited to the prescribed analyst experience and capabilities as defined in Air Force Instruction 21-101, Air Force Material Command Supplement, Aircraft and Equipment Maintenance Management, chapter/paragraphs included in 5.2.5 Maintenance Management Analysis
    • Detailed technical knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience with G081 and REMIS or an equivalent MIS for accurately documenting aircraft maintenance actions and repairs, discrepancies, maintenance codes, and corrective actions
    • Ability to employ objective, scientific analytical and statistical research and analysis using a variety of analytical and/or mathematical techniques to pull, research, review, and manipulate data to ensure the highest level of data accuracy in reports, charts, problem identification, studies, recommendations, training, MIS inputs into G081 and REMIS
    • Detailed technical knowledge, skills, abilities and experience researching technical orders to determine correct maintenance data codes for type of maintenance, action taken, how malfunction and reference designators apply, and work unit codes to ensure all maintenance repair action data description, repair codes, and corrective actions accurately reflect all repair completed on a C-17 aircraft
    • Detailed technical, knowledge, skills, and abilities with Microsoft Office products to include but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Teams, Project, and Access. The contractor shall use a variety of methods and procedures to develop formulas, models, filters, charts, reports, training modules, and briefings for USAF senior leaders
    • USAF field-level experience with AFTO Form 781s or similar aircrew/mission flight documentation
    • AF Depot Maintenance Management Information Systems
    • REMIS and G081
    • Strong analytic and research capabilities
    • Strong presentation development and delivery and relationship building skills at all levels, including working, managerial and executive
  • Required Clearance:
    • Active Secret Clearance
  • Preferred Skills and Certifications:
    • Department of Defense or Air Force supply chain management / logistics functional knowledge
