We are a seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to analyze, identify and document security requirements for emerging system capabilities. This person will provide oversight, policy, and procedure development, and related functions in compliance with Information Assurance requirements relevant to a United States Air Force functional portfolio of systems/capabilities.  The position is responsible for implementing, operating, and managing information security requirements both technical and administrative on classified system and unclassified systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, develop, and evaluate security programs for customer organizations, as required. Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements
  • Develop NIST / FISMA Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) documentation for systems and networks undergoing certification and validates the quality of deliverables produced by the team
  • Assess risks within the Risk Management Framework (RMF), identify mitigation requirements and develops accreditation recommendations; be responsible for tracking A&A requirements for assigned systems within the agency and validates those tasks are on schedule, and ensure the delivery of quality documentation
  • Prepare the Security Assessment Plan (SAP)
  • Demonstrated ability to review and edit draft security artifacts as assigned to ensure compliance with A&A, and FISMA
  • Assist in the creation of A&A assessment packages with the responsibility for gathering information from system owners, applying data to the appropriate templates, and attending meetings in support of the effort
  • Determine enterprise information assurance and security standards
  • Develop and implement information assurance/security standards and procedures
  • Establish and satisfy information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands
  • Perform vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Must possess a 4-year degree, or equivalent work experience that may be substituted
  •  Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • Five plus (5+) years of experience working with the DoD or Air Force community.  Ten plus (10+) years of overall experience
    • Experience in developing and implementing Information Assurance plans for a new information system development effort
    • Experience in performing tasks related to an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or an ISS Manager (ISSM)
    • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience applying a risk-based approach to information security and IT assessments
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize duties based on shifting demands
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing, team-based environment
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with business and technical communities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
    • Proficient in Microsoft Visio
  • Required Clearance:
    • Active Secret Security Clearance
