We are seeking an Appian Architect to work as an Appian consultant and hands on developer to help the AFLCMC organization to build applications and workflows using Appian products with a low-code automation platform.  This person will be critical working within a DoD and 3rd party technical team to drive and deliver applications rapidly, with enhanced capabilities and services to the user base. The person in this role will be primarily responsible for providing application solutions to enable efficient business operations and drive business agility.

  • Research, analyze, design, propose, and deliver solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies
  • Plan and guide large and/or complex projects
  • Conceive solutions, build consensus, and sell/execute solutions
  • Prioritize work to assure overall business objectives
  • Actively monitor new and emerging technologies, trends, practices, and solutions and assess their applicability to business initiatives and strategies
  • Collaborate with Product and Service Domain owners on translating business requirements and operational strategy into a long-term, executable solution plan and roadmap
  • Work with IT and Project Leadership to keep solutions in alignment with the future IT roadmap
  • Able to contribute to hands-on development and support, Proof of Concept and demos as needed
  • Recommend new tools, methodologies, technologies, data and platforms
  • Provide input on options, risk, cost vs. benefits, and impacts on other processes for buy vs. build decisions
  • Analyze the current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements such as expanding capacity, predictability, reducing time & cost, and increasing effectiveness


  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related field or equivalent or commensurate experience in a related position
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • At least five (5) years’ experience in a senior Appian Architecture role in a mid-size to large enterprise, with a major focus on corporate applications
    • Experience in Low Code – No Code solutioning, Agile, Appian RPA/BPM Implementation, Pega Java, API’s
    • Good understanding of client business and should be able to provide the best solutions using Appian & RPA
    • Be able to build a road map for the client’s digital transformation
    • Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions
    • Experience with public cloud platforms and application development platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, CGP, etc.)
    • Have End to End Appian/BPM Project Management experience
    • Have worked on one or more end-to-end Appian BPM implementation (Design/Develop/Deploy/Package). Hands-on development on Appian (19x/20x) BPM applications.
    • Good understanding of Appian Objects such as Records, Sites, Actions, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, SAIL Interfaces, CDTs, Process Models, Constants, Decisions, Integrations (Web API, Connected Systems etc), Data Stores, Groups, etc.
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
    • L2 Appian Certified 
    • Diversified domain knowledge
