We are a seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee and help synchronize digital transformation efforts within the Air Force Personnel Directorate (AF/A1). This includes direct engagement with the Total Force community to ensure the AF/A1 effectively implements new capabilities.


  • Provide strategic support for updating and maintaining IT roadmaps and supplementing with industry best practices. This includes identifying schedules, dependencies, risks, and major activities 
  • Provide strategic planning for annual budgeting outreach, to include planning communications and major activities for stakeholders 
  • Utilize knowledge of IT portfolio management to recommend best practices that can be implemented to improve client processes  
  • Document and recommend more effective internal and external processes 
  • Integrate and support long-term IT planning strategy with existing portfolio management activities to identify dependencies, risks, and major activities  
  • Facilitate meetings with client leadership to solicit executive decisions 
  • Collaboratively develop briefing materials as needed for outreach to client stakeholders 
  • Provide outreach and communications to system owners to support portfolio management and budgeting processes   


  • Education: 
    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree 
    • Must have ten (10) years’ experience or an advanced degree can substitute for two (2) years’ experience 
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:  
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
    • Excellent collaboration skills  
    • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail 
    • Ability to prioritize duties based on shifting demands 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite 
  • Physical Requirements: 
    • Must be able to work a 40-hour week using a computer
